Every year, the world emits >35 billion tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere, causing global warming. CCUS allows us to capture CO2 and recycle it into useful products or store it. Our goal is to invest in projects and technologies that will keep CO2 out of the atmosphere.

Why does CCUS matter?
CCUS is a high-impact opportunity for climate change. As the global population increases to over 9 billion people by 2040 and energy demand rises by more than a third, we still need to cut CO2 emissions in half by 2040 to remain in line with the Paris Agreement.
Around 30 million tonnes of CO2 is currently stored per year. This figure needs to increase to 850 million tonnes of CO2 per year by 2030, a ~25-fold increase, to align with the Paris goals.* We won’t be able to reach a <1.5˚C target without CCUS, according to the IPCC.**
