The Oil and Gas Climate Initiative brings together 12 of the largest oil and gas companies worldwide, representing almost 30% of global oil and gas production. It provides a forum to share best practice on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and develops collaborative initiatives with a wide range of partners to accelerate the energy transition.
OGCI member companies use standardized and regularly updated methodologies to report their aggregate annual greenhouse gas emissions and spending on low carbon technologies. EY, as an independent third party, verifies data submitted by companies, anonymizes it and reviews the consolidated data.
Decarbonizing the energy system is a complex task that requires collaboration. OGCI works with many partners to deliver its own initiatives and support efforts by others.
Our 2022 report highlights the progress OGCI has made in translating its three strategy pillars – towards net zero operations, leading the industry and helping to decarbonize society – into tangible and impactful action.
