Over the past decade, OGCI has helped lead the oil and gas industry’s response to the climate challenge – demonstrating what’s possible and collaborating across the industry to accelerate progress to net zero.
Since 2017, OGCI’s member companies have reduced their collective upstream methane emissions by 55%, cut routine flaring by 53% and reduced carbon intensity by 21%. Our members have also spent $95.8 billion in low-carbon technologies, such as renewables, biofuels and carbon capture.
To help scale up emissions reductions across the oil and gas sector, we’re sharing essential knowledge and best practice through the Oil & Gas Decarbonization Charter (OGDC), an initiative we helped shape and launch at COP28.
