The CO2 Storage Resource Catalogue is an independent evaluation of geologic CO2 storage assessments worldwide
The 13 countries evaluated in the CO2 Storage Resource Catalogue so far represent the first assessment of a six-year public resource provided by OGCI. The countries currently covered are:

The methodology developed by Pale Blue Dot Energy closely follows the definitions of the Storage Resource Management Scheme (SRMS). Under this system, the evaluated geologic formations are defined as ‘stored’, ‘capacity’ and ‘resource’. The intent is to capture the maturity of commercial resources available to CCUS projects globally.
The SRMS is a project-based classification scheme. The current assessment highlights that the majority of resource assessments are not project-based and hence non-commercial categories of the SRMS scheme are dominant. The results also highlight the critical need for the nascent CCUS industry to incorporate project-specific requirements (infrastructure, number of penetrations) to a specific resource.
The goal of the CO2 Storage Resource Catalogue is to be the global repository for all future storage resource assessments.
