OGCI Climate Investments participates in Svante’s $75m financing round

OGCI Climate Investments is pleased to confirm its participation in Svante’s US$75 million round of Series D equity financing.  Climate Investments first invested in Svante, a novel carbon capture technology company, in 2018. This latest funding round was led by Temasak and brought in new high calibre investors. It marks the largest private investment into point source carbon capture globally to date.

Carbon capture remains a key area of focus for Climate Investments. Svante’s technology has the potential to significantly lower the cost of capture which is a critical step to large scale adoption and to addressing emissions from hard-to-abate sectors. In addition to Climate Investments’ financial support, Svante is also accelerating its technology development via projects with four OGCI member companies – Chevron, Total, Occidental and Aramco.
