World climate and energy leaders gather with OGCI as it announces key outcomes of 2016/17

CEOs from OGCI’s member companies and the CEO of its investment arm, OGCI Climate Investments, will meet in London on 27 October to share key outcomes of OGCI’s third year of work.

Inger Andersen, Director General, IUCN
Appointed Director General of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in January 2015.  Inger has more than 30 years of experience in international development economics, environmental sustainability and policy-making.

Fred Krupp, President, Environmental Defense League (EDF)
Fred Krupp has led EDF for over 30 years and is an influential voice on the environment and climate change.  EDF is a leading NGO in the methane discussion and OGCI is working with them on identifying and measuring global methane emissions.

Mohammad Barkindo, Secretary General, OPEC
Appointed to a three-year term as Secretary General of OPEC with effect from 1 August 2016. Served as Acting Secretary General during 2006, represented Nigeria on OPEC’s Economic Commission Board during 1993–2008, led the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation during 2009–2010, and has headed Nigeria’s technical delegation to UN climate negotiations since 1991

Rachel Kyte, Chief Executive of Sustainable Energy for All
Rachel Kyte is Chief Executive Officer of Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL), and Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Sustainable Energy for All.

Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA)
Renowned Turkish economist and energy expert, Fatih Birol was appointed Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA) in September 2015.

Claire Perry, UK Minister for Industry and Climate Change
Claire Perry was appointed Minister of State at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy on 12 June 2017. She was elected Conservative MP for Devizes in 2010.

Lise Kingo, Executive Director of the UN Global Compact
UN Global Compact is committed to aligning strategies and operations with universal principles on human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption, and taking actions that advance societal goals. Signatories include OGCI members BP, Eni, Repsol, Shell, Statoil and Total.

David Victor, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)
Victor is a leading contributor to the IPCC, a UN-sanctioned international body with 195 country members. He is a professor of international relations at the School of Global Policy and Strategy and director of the Laboratory on International Law and Regulation at the University of California, San Diego.
